Why Statesville

A real town with room to spread out

Statesville is the county seat of Iredell County, with roots going back to the 1750s. It has a real downtown, a historic district full of old homes, and newer subdivisions on the edges where you can still find a big yard at a fair price.

Buyers usually find Statesville when they run the numbers on Mooresville or the lake towns and want more for their money. Here, a lot of the time, you're comparing a three-bedroom house on a real lot to a townhome further south.

Getting around is easy. I-77 runs north and south, I-40 runs east and west, and US 21, 64 and 70 all pass through town. Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Hickory and the mountains are all within day-trip distance.

Historic homes near downtown. Statesville has several historic districts, including Academy Hill, Mitchell College and South Race Street. You'll find Greek Revival, Queen Anne and Classical Revival houses within walking distance of Broad and Center Streets.
Established brick ranches and two-stories. Neighborhoods like Wendover Hills, Country Club Estates and Meadow Oaks have mature trees and bigger lots.
Newer communities with amenities. Hidden Lakes, Bell Farm and Wallace Springs have pools, trails and playgrounds.
